In year 1 the children have been finding out about where the poppy for Remembrance Day comes from. We discussed the meaning of the poppy and how it symbolises peace and remembrance, then completed a fact sheet all about Remembrance Day. In the continuous provision, the children had the opportunity to make poppies using multi-link and paint poppies and write key words inside an outline of a soldier. Some of the children chose to add their multi-link poppies to the zoo role play for people to buy.
