Case study: Three Gorges Dam
As part of our Rivers topic, Year 5 have been looking at how rivers are affected by humans.
They have been researching the Three Gorges Dam and thinking about the advantages and disadvantages of the Dam.
We then split the class in half and gave three children the task of deciding whether or not the dam is a positive or negative impact on the river and its environment.
Our spokes-children decided that the disadvantages far outweighed the advantages.
