Supertato to the rescue

In Reception, we have been learning about Harvest. We know it is a special festival celebrated in Autumn as a thank you for the crops that have been grown this year. We talked about food that grows on land, in the soil and on trees. The children have enjoyed listening to the story “Supertato” and have completed lots of activities and challenges in the indoor provision. They made their very own super veggie, play dough evil pea and made traps to catch the evil pea.

Mrs Loughhead picked some apples from the tree outside and we used them to make a tasty apple crumble. The children helped to chop the apples, mix the ingredients and rubbed the butter into the flour to make the crumble.
