As part of our Mountains topic, we were lucky enough to have a visit from some members of the North of Tyne Mountain Rescue team this afternoon. They even brought their mountain rescue dog – Roy!
We looked at all the different equipment that they use during a rescue and found out why each piece of equipment is so important. We found about how they train and what they do when they go on a rescue.
Did you know the mountain rescue team members are all volunteers and don’t get paid. It is a charity that relies on donations!
