Yesterday Year One visited Blaydon Library to listen to and discuss a wide range of stories and poems, the most popular story the heard being “The Giant Jumperee” by Julia Donaldson.

Before listening to the story, the children were given five clues to help them decide what a “Jumperee” actually is and what it looks like. Once they had envisioned the animal’s appearance they then set to work drawing an illustration to accompany the description.

When they had finished the librarian lady shared the story with the children, finally revealing the mystery of the real “Jumparee”… let’s just say what was revealed was certainly not what they had designed… (it might be worth reading the story)…
