Year 3 had a fantastic Friday travelling to York, by train, to visit the Jorvik Viking Centre. The children’s behaviour, enthusiasm and attitude was impeccable and they were all excellent representatives of our school. First, we had the opportunity to explore the DIG site and enjoyed an Anglo Saxon and Viking Medicine workshop, where the children were shocked to find out how illnesses and injuries were treated in the past. We then visited Jorvik where we experienced what life was like in Viking York and discovered how our knowledge of the past was obtained. Finally, we returned to DIG for a Battle Tactics workshop before our exciting train journey back to Newcastle. All of the children were super stars throughout and should be very proud of themselves!
