This half term the children have been creating their very own “Minibeast Mansions”.
First the children planned their creations by drawing what they would they like their end product to look like (they even used their plans as the backgrounds to their designs). Next they explored various moving mechanisms such as levers and axles in order to decide which mechanisms that they would like to use themselves. Each child then made a range moving minibeasts i.e. push and pull caterpillars, winding spiders, fluttering butterflies etc. to add to their mansions through using various materials such as split pins, cardboard, pipe cleaners and straws.
Take a look for yourself.
