This afternoon Year 4 made some mini water cycles using a plastic cup, compost, seeds and cling film. The idea is to watch the water cycle in action. Year 4 are looking for evaporation, condensation, precipitation and collection. This will happen as the compost and seeds have been watered and evaporation will start to take place due to sunlight. Following this the water vapour will rise up and reach the top of the cup where it will gather and become heavy causing condensation on the cling film. Once this happens the water will begin to fall as precipitation back onto the compost. Then the whole cycle begins again!
