Year 2 have been learning about what anti-bullying week really means. They learned the difference between the word rude, mean and bullying and also talked about the value of kindness and the impact it can have on people. The children all had great ideas about they can be kind to people. They conducted an experiment where they were all given a piece of paper and told that they could be mean to it. they said nasty things to the paper, a rumpled it up and even jumped on it. They then apologised to the piece of paper and as they did yes other it back out. What they learnt was that even though they had smoothed the paper out it still had creases and bumps. This taught them the valuable lesson that once you have bullied someone it is very difficult for that person to heal. We were very impressed with their very mature approach to this topic.
